Why 15 | 40 ?
A common phrase we were told by our coaches was “bilog ang bola.”
The ball is round, meaning nothing is guaranteed in tennis. Even if you’re up with a lopsided score of 40-15, in the blink of an eye, that lead can disappear. On the flipside, the beauty of tennis is that it’s never too late to catch up.
Trailing by 0-6, 0-5, 15-40, means that you’re still in the game.
Having grown up as tennis players, we’ve looked up to legends of the sport that were both born and bred in the Philippines. But even with the rise in the sport’s achievement and popularity, we noticed how little we knew about the players’ lives.
Here at 15-40, we want to be a platform where we can share the history of what makes tennis in this country so great. Like how it’s never too late to catch up in a tennis match, we believe it’s never too late to fill the gaps in the sport’s history.
Even if you’ve been playing for years, just started picking up a racket, or are simply a tennis aficionado…
